No freezer stock. Cakes are baked in the days before your celebration and finished on the morning — so the sponge is still soft when you cut it.
Level tiers, sharp edges, hand-placed toppers and a last check before anything leaves the kitchen. The details are the whole job.
Base price is per layer — R150 for a 5 inch up to R400 for an 8 inch — and decor is quoted on top. You always see what you're paying for before you commit.
A handful of recent bakes — birthdays, a baby shower, a bride-to-be cake and a box of buttercream cupcakes.
Everything is made to order, so treat these as starting points rather than a fixed menu — if what you want isn't here, ask.
Buttercream drips, gold leaf, sphere garlands and hand-placed toppers — from a smooth single tier to a full showpiece with your name across the board.
Barbie, unicorns, Bluey, Just Dance — whatever they're obsessed with this year, built in buttercream with edible prints, rainbows and matching number candles.
"Oh Baby" in acrylic script, sleeping-bear toppers and sphere garlands in sage, coral, caramel or rose gold — softly finished and photo-ready.
Bride-to-be cakes, vintage piped hearts and save-the-date prints, finished with gold leaf, macarons and fresh blooms in your palette.
Swirled buttercream cupcakes in gold cases — plain for dessert tables and office runs, or themed to match your main cake with butterflies and pearls.
Golden buttermilk scones and bakery muffins — bran, blueberry and chocolate — baked in bulk for functions, church teas, staff mornings and shop resale.
Fikiz Bakery is a small home bakery in Richards Bay. Every cake that leaves here is designed, baked, iced and finished by hand — not assembled from parts, and never made in a hurry.
That's deliberate. Taking a limited number of orders each week is what makes it possible to sit with a design until it's right, to redo an edge that isn't sharp enough, and to answer your messages properly instead of sending a price list and disappearing.
Most of the work comes from people who have ordered before, or from someone who saw a cake at a party and asked who made it. That's the whole marketing plan, and it only works if every single cake is worth talking about.
Quality ingredients, elegant finishes — and nothing leaves the kitchen unless it's worth talking about.
